There’s no such thing as a level playing field for the poor, so stop pretending that all those social programs create one – they don’t.
What’s needed are opportunities, but the rich folks don’t want any poor folks in their class, so they throw programs at them, telling them they’re on their own to achieve what they achieved, knowing full-well they won’t – because they designed the system to keep them out – the riffraff – at every juncture.
If they don’t make it, then it’s their own fault. They didn’t work hard enough or play by the rules.
Working hard and playing by the rules isn’t the way every rich, successful person in the world achieved their wealth and success. Most get to where they are by having doors automatically open as they approach. That’s called privilege.
