  1. 20 out of 28 Indian states ban slaughter and sale of cows. The rest have no restrictions. India produced 3.643 million metric tons of beef in 2012, of which 1.963 million metric tons was consumed domestically and 1.680 million metric tons was exported. According to a 2012 report, India ranks fifth in the world in beef production and seventh in domestic consumption. Below are the 15 countries that exported the highest dollar value worth of beef regardless of whether fresh, chilled or frozen during 2019.

Australia: US$7.6 billion (14.8% of total beef exports)
United States of America: $6.9 billion (13.4%)
    Brazil: $6.5 billion (12.6%)
    Netherlands: $3.2 billion (6.1%)
    India: $3.1 billion (6%)
    Argentina: $3.1 billion (6%)
    New Zealand: $2.4 billion (4.6%)
    Canada: $2.18 billion (4.2%)
    Ireland: $2.15 billion (4.2%)
    Uruguay: $1.8 billion (3.6%)
    Poland: $1.6 billion (3%)
    Mexico: $1.4 billion (2.7%)
    Germany: $1.3 billion (2.6%)
    France: $1.03 billion (2%)
    Paraguay: $1.02 billion (2%)

It appears that some religions looking for loopholes develop different ways to slaughter to fulfill their religious commitments.
